Best Fireplace Mantel Displays
Display quirky finds or personal collections on a mantel to give the room a sense of personality and heart.
The fireplace mantel is a place on which people try to test their imaginative and creative thoughts to decorate it. The best thing to do is to place the things which you would love to display over the mantel in an attractive way. To give it a balanced look, the mantel should have certain small as well as large decorative items. Do it according to how big your mantle is. Tiny items will get out of sight on a large mantel while too large a stuff on a small mantel will look very odd. Decorate you mantel in harmony to the style of the room in which it is present. Putting up too many things on the mantel should be avoided or else it will look disorganized and crowded. If you are decorating a fireplace mantel which functions, avoid placing things which can catch fire. Safety precautions are required while decorating a mantel always.
Adding just a few seasonal tweaks to your existing year-round display is the simplest, and sometimes most effective, way to spice up your mantel for the holidays. It’s the option I’m choosing this year. I’m crazy about the look on my mantel right now, so I’m going to keep everything exactly where it is and just add a bit of greenery and a touch or two of glitz.Arm yourself with some wonderful greens and play around a bit. Tuck an evergreen pick or strand of pine garland behind the artwork above your mantel, letting the branches cascade lazily over one corner. If you want, hang a few ornaments from the branches. Let a few more picks peak out from behind the items on your mantel. If you have sconces hanging beside the artwork above your mantel, remove the candles and fill the cups with seasonal items such as pine cones, tree ornaments or holiday fruits, like pomegranates.
Simplicity is key in this living space. Designers David Bromstad and Danielle Hirsch covered up old brick with a distressed wood facade, while staining the remaining brick to match the warm colors of the room. Built-in firewood racks add convenient storage space and style, with tea light candles on the mantel for a finishing touch to this remodeled fireplace.
This fireplace mantle display includes a Christmas scarf with red tassels, greenery with lights, and glass icicles from Old World Christmas. There are bottle brush trees, cardboard houses and a glass Christmas tree finial, set on a finial holder. Now that I’ve taken a picture of this display, I see that it’s imbalanced. The larger set of bottle brush trees should have been split up, some on the other side of the mantle or additional trees the same size put there. The miniature red feather tree might look better snuggled in with the bottle brush trees. Larger houses would work better in this display. I need two more Christmas stockings to balance underneath the mantle.
